How to install GifGun 2?
That's super simple! Just use the aescripts + aeplugins manager app.
How do I use GifGun in After Effects?
  1. Open the panel via Window → Extensions → GifGun 2 and dock it anywhere in your workspace.
  2. Select one or more compositions in the Project panel – GifGun renders them all in one batch.
  3. Pick an output preset: GIF, WEBP, WEBM or MP4, with or without alpha.
  4. Click render. GifGun renders the comp and encodes it with its own compression, so you get a finished file without going through Media Encoder.

Is there a free version or trial of GifGun?

Yes – there is a free trial of GifGun 2. Log in to your account on the GifGun aescripts page and download the trial to test the plugin in your own After Effects projects before buying.

You can also try GifGun Online right in your browser. A full license is a one-time $39.99 purchase and covers the After Effects plugin, the standalone desktop apps and the web app.

Where do I find my GifGun license code?

Your license code is in your aescripts account under My Downloads and Licenses. The same code activates the After Effects plugin, the standalone desktop apps and the web app.

Can't find it? Open a support ticket from the account you purchased with.

How to render with the alpha channel?
We removed the "Keep Alpha" option, so just select any preset that contains Alpha. The built-in "High Quality with Alpha" preset works great for both GIF and WEBM. Remember that MP4 has no alpha channel options.
How do I upgrade from GifGun 1?
If you purchased GifGun 1 after March 1, 2023, you can upgrade for $10 which is the price difference as GifGun 2 is $10 more expensive than GifGun 1. If you purchased GifGun 1 before March 1, 2023 you can upgrade for $20. (Floating licenses additional). Simply login to the same account and the upgrade pricing will be automatically displayed on the product page. If you need any assistance please open a support ticket.
